“I just thought I would send you a short note to thank you for an amazing
weekend. I feel I gained a lot of confidence and life skills through the relaxed
workshop you provided I will be strongly recommending your workshop to
other ladies who undertake the showgirl journey. Your support and insight is
invaluable. Many thanks and best wishes.”

To whom this concerns,

I have been involved in The Land Showgirl movement for a number of years, including having been a Showgirl myself. More recently I’ve co-ordinated the Narrabri Showgirl Competition, with this year being my sixth year.

As part of our prize to both our winner and runner-up, we provide the Showgirls with the opportunity to attend the Dubbo Showgirl Preparation weekend. In the last two years our winners have both elected to in addition, attend the preparation day run by Adi Ritchie, which I have also attended with these Showgirls.

While the girls who have attended the Dubbo weekend have come away with positive comments, they have also found it somewhat intimidating and very much one size fits all. This is particularly the case with the younger showgirls. The Dubbo weekend is also very much deportment orientated, rather than Showgirl focused. The two Showgirls, who have attended both, have said that they enjoyed the more personalised friendly and relaxed approach. They felt like Mrs Ritchie’s day better prepared them for the next level of competition, while in addition gave them other life skills. The smaller group size allowed for more individual support and they were encouraged to be themselves still, rather than role playing character that someone considers a “Showgirl” should be.

I personally enjoyed being able to attend and support my Showgirls in their experience and I found that the day was very true to following the aims and ideals of the Showgirl Competition. As a Show Society we have now made the decision to send our winners to Mrs Ritchie’s Preparation day in preference to the Dubbo weekend.

I highly recommend Mrs Ritchie’s workshop and wish her all the very best as she continues to evolve her business.

Yours Faithfully

“Thank you so much for coming to teach us how to speak and eat properly. One
thing I really found beneficial from your workshop was knowing what to wear
and how to present yourself at an interview for a job. I found this really helpful
as in the holidays I am going to apply for a part time job and now I feel
prepared and confident that I am going to give a good impression.”

Thank you for all your assistance today in helping us to improve our attitudes
and manners. One aspect I really enjoyed was that your programme wasn’t
boring and it was easy to interact and made our time interesting and comedic.
Thanks again.

I have much pleasure in commending Adi Ritchie for the excellent staff development workshop she gave the team from our shop in Glen Innes on Tuesday 12th May.  Not only did the team of ten people enjoy this course but they have reported to us how much they have learned from it.  This report came from both our male and female team members, young and mature.

The course outline consisted of such topics as meal time etiquette, greater care with their speech when addressing our customers and each other and workplace courtesies and general do’s and don’ts. We have always stressed to our staff that they must have a courteous, helpful, cheerful manner with our customers and so it was good to learn ways of improving our service.  Adi made sure everyone felt like participating and gave us plenty of examples from her own experience.

Our staff participated in this course after being at work all day or in their own free time. Adi had such a nice way of telling us things so that we never felt belittled or stupid.
In fact all of us were so impressed by her presentation that we hope we can arrange for another course with her before long.  We recommend her to other groups.
