I have much pleasure in commending Adi Ritchie for the excellent staff development workshop she gave the team from our shop in Glen Innes on Tuesday 12th May.  Not only did the team of ten people enjoy this course but they have reported to us how much they have learned from it.  This report came from both our male and female team members, young and mature.

The course outline consisted of such topics as meal time etiquette, greater care with their speech when addressing our customers and each other and workplace courtesies and general do’s and don’ts. We have always stressed to our staff that they must have a courteous, helpful, cheerful manner with our customers and so it was good to learn ways of improving our service.  Adi made sure everyone felt like participating and gave us plenty of examples from her own experience.

Our staff participated in this course after being at work all day or in their own free time. Adi had such a nice way of telling us things so that we never felt belittled or stupid.
In fact all of us were so impressed by her presentation that we hope we can arrange for another course with her before long.  We recommend her to other groups.

“Polish Works conducted a staff training workshop for the retail staff of our
store. The training included all aspects of customer service and staff
relationships and was conducted in an extremely professional manner while
still maintaining an element of humour. The staff found the presentation
enjoyable and extremely beneficial and we have see flow on results in the way
the staff deal both with customers and their peers, as a result of this.
We would recommend the training offered by Polish Works to anyone wishing
to provide training for their staff in this area.”

To whom this concerns,

I have been involved in The Land Showgirl movement for a number of years, including having been a Showgirl myself. More recently I’ve co-ordinated the Narrabri Showgirl Competition, with this year being my sixth year.

As part of our prize to both our winner and runner-up, we provide the Showgirls with the opportunity to attend the Dubbo Showgirl Preparation weekend. In the last two years our winners have both elected to in addition, attend the preparation day run by Adi Ritchie, which I have also attended with these Showgirls.

While the girls who have attended the Dubbo weekend have come away with positive comments, they have also found it somewhat intimidating and very much one size fits all. This is particularly the case with the younger showgirls. The Dubbo weekend is also very much deportment orientated, rather than Showgirl focused. The two Showgirls, who have attended both, have said that they enjoyed the more personalised friendly and relaxed approach. They felt like Mrs Ritchie’s day better prepared them for the next level of competition, while in addition gave them other life skills. The smaller group size allowed for more individual support and they were encouraged to be themselves still, rather than role playing character that someone considers a “Showgirl” should be.

I personally enjoyed being able to attend and support my Showgirls in their experience and I found that the day was very true to following the aims and ideals of the Showgirl Competition. As a Show Society we have now made the decision to send our winners to Mrs Ritchie’s Preparation day in preference to the Dubbo weekend.

I highly recommend Mrs Ritchie’s workshop and wish her all the very best as she continues to evolve her business.

Yours Faithfully

Many thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge and experiences with us last weekend. The day far surpassed my expectations and I was so impressed with how the workshop was conducted. You have taught me so much more than just how to use a knife and fork correctly.

“Prep and Polish proved to be a polished and structured programme, perfectly
geared for the targeted audience. I believe the timing of the programme to
Year 10 was hugely beneficial as students are embarking on the work force and
becoming more involved as adults in society.
All topics covered were extremely relevant, valuable and easily adapted to real
life situations that our students will soon be facing.
Your communication skills were highly effective, resulting in all students being
thoroughly engaged not only with you but also the content. The students were
in awe of your extensive general knowledge and entertaining anecdotes.
….you managed to equip our girls with many practical life lessons, appropriate
for their age.
Your delivery was outstanding resulting in a captivated and engrossed
audience.”
