Dear Sir / Madam,

May I introduce myself. My name is Patti Crowley and I am currently the Barraba Show Society’s Showgirl Coordinator. I have held this position for the past 10 years. I first met Adi Ritchie 3 years ago at a Group 13 meeting in Uralla where she was introducing her business “Manners by M’lAdi” to those present and explaining that she was developing an information program called Standout Showgirl.

Barraba Show Society has had 2 showgirls attend the Standout Showgirl Personal & Professional Development Workshop in the past 2 years and both have found the day to be very informative and beneficial in their quest to achieve in the showgirl competition and also on a personal level.

I also attended the day program as a coordinator. The day was run in a friendly and professional manner and was conveniently located closer to Barraba. The 1 day format cuts down on costs when compared to a 2 day course with the added expenses for accommodation and travel.

The day also provides a venue for our showgirls to meet each other and to be able to network as a group prior to Zone Judging.

If you would like to discuss this further with me I can be contacted on 67821795.

Yours Sincerely,

Patti Crowley
Barraba Showgirl Coordinator

To whom this concerns,

I have been involved in The Land Showgirl movement for a number of years, including having been a Showgirl myself. More recently I’ve co-ordinated the Narrabri Showgirl Competition, with this year being my sixth year.

As part of our prize to both our winner and runner-up, we provide the Showgirls with the opportunity to attend the Dubbo Showgirl Preparation weekend. In the last two years our winners have both elected to in addition, attend the preparation day run by Adi Ritchie, which I have also attended with these Showgirls.

While the girls who have attended the Dubbo weekend have come away with positive comments, they have also found it somewhat intimidating and very much one size fits all. This is particularly the case with the younger showgirls. The Dubbo weekend is also very much deportment orientated, rather than Showgirl focused. The two Showgirls, who have attended both, have said that they enjoyed the more personalised friendly and relaxed approach. They felt like Mrs Ritchie’s day better prepared them for the next level of competition, while in addition gave them other life skills. The smaller group size allowed for more individual support and they were encouraged to be themselves still, rather than role playing character that someone considers a “Showgirl” should be.

I personally enjoyed being able to attend and support my Showgirls in their experience and I found that the day was very true to following the aims and ideals of the Showgirl Competition. As a Show Society we have now made the decision to send our winners to Mrs Ritchie’s Preparation day in preference to the Dubbo weekend.

I highly recommend Mrs Ritchie’s workshop and wish her all the very best as she continues to evolve her business.

Yours Faithfully

“Polish Works conducted a staff training workshop for the retail staff of our
store. The training included all aspects of customer service and staff
relationships and was conducted in an extremely professional manner while
still maintaining an element of humour. The staff found the presentation
enjoyable and extremely beneficial and we have see flow on results in the way
the staff deal both with customers and their peers, as a result of this.
We would recommend the training offered by Polish Works to anyone wishing
to provide training for their staff in this area.”

“Thank you so much for coming to teach us how to speak and eat properly. One
thing I really found beneficial from your workshop was knowing what to wear
and how to present yourself at an interview for a job. I found this really helpful
as in the holidays I am going to apply for a part time job and now I feel
prepared and confident that I am going to give a good impression.”
